Being on the Other Side of the Table: Summing Up LTUE 2014

I can’t adequately express what a wonderful experience it was to be a panelist at LTUE this year…

Or how much fun I had, cramped at a couple of tables with seven or eight other authors and artists on what we fondly refer to as the “Avenue of Awesomeness…”

Michaelbrent Collings was stationed next to our table on the “Avenue of Awesomeness.”

Or what it was like to sell books and orc valentines at my first ever mass book signing…

My first legit book signing during the Mass Signing event on Friday night.

Or how many cool people I got to meet, swap books with, reconnect with, and encourage to keep up with their own creative endeavors…

Orson Scott Card was the keynote speaker at LTUE this year! He’s also the uncle of my very good friend Janae, whom I have known since the sixth grade.

All I can say is thank you to all of the many, many, many, many people who made LTUE 2014 an amazing experience for me as I sat on the other side of the table in the dealer’s room and on panels for the first time. You guys inspire me so much. You make me feel like I’m a legit author, welcome friend, and the coolest, luckiest person alive. Thank you all for believing in me, for connecting with me, for being excited and invested in what I do, and for your sincere friendship.

I’ll keep writing if you’ll keep reading. And you guys keep creating too! I hope to see more of you next year on the other side of the table with me. It’s the best place to be!

Also, I can’t wait to get started on this sweet stack of books I’ve acquired…

Love, your new favorite author. 😉
